Josephine “Jody” Smith Mulhearn Funeral HomeWest Monroe, LA Funeral Services for Josephine “Jody” Smith, 75, of West Monroe, LA will be held 2:00 P.M., Friday, August 8, 2014 at Community Baptist Church, West Monroe with Rev. Danny McIlveene officiating. Interment will follow in Hasley Cemetery, West Monroe, LA under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, West Monroe.Jody was born April 10, 1939 and passed away August 6, 2014. She was a faithful member of Community Baptist Church and was devoted to her family and friends. Mrs. Smith was a retired frontend manager with Brookshire’s Grocery. She is preceded in death by her parents, James Archie and Jennie Vestal; son, Jerry Lamar Smith; and brother, Claude Reid Vestal.Survivors include her sons, Rusty Smith and wife, Cheryl of Jena, LA and James Neal Smith of New Orleans, LA; grandchildren, Curtis Smith of New Orleans, LA, Stephanie Smith of Washington State, Chris Allen, Robin Allen, Joshua Smith and Tommy Smith all of Jena, LA; 14 great grandchildren; siblings, George Vestal of Fountain Hill, AR, Marvin Vestal of Snyder, AR, Lyndon Vestal of West Monroe, Tony Vestal of Portland, AR, Linda Vestal of Bellville, AR, and Judy Sadler of Portland, AR; and numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Curtis Smith, Chris Allen, Robin Allen, Josh Smith, Bubba Jackson and Tommy Smith.Visitation will be held from 5:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M.
