Funeral services for Mrs. Juanita Mae Townsend, 84, of West Monroe will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, December 2, 2008 in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home, West Monroe with Rev. Neil Everett officiating. Interment will follow at Twin Cities Memorial Garden Cemetery.
Mrs. Townsend enjoyed gardening, cooking, sewing, and dancing. She is preceded in death by her son, James Allan Townsend and grandson, Jimmy Townsend.
Survivors include her husband, Oscar “Rat” Townsend; son, Dale R. Townsend and wife Marisa; daughter in-law, Gail Townsend; two grandchildren, Jodi Lea Evans and April Nicole Massey; one great grandchild, Kristy Jane Mitchell; two great, great grandchildren; sisters, Pauline Preston and Bessie Teat; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Craig Preston, Dane Massey, Bo Teat, Tim Evans, Carroll Townsend, and Dickey Worthey. Honorary pallbearer will be Jimmy Teat.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 until 8:00 PM Monday at Mulhearn Funeral Home, West Monroe.
