June Murphy

Funeral services for June Christian Murphy will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, April 16, 2016, at St. David’s Episcopal Church in Rayville, with The Reverend Canon Walter E. Friese, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow at Rayville Masonic Cemetery in Rayville under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home in Rayville.Mrs. Murphy died Sunday, April 10, 2016 at the Rayville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Rayville. She was a long-time resident of Richland Parish.Mrs. Murphy was known for her passion for reading which made her a frequent visitor to the Richland Parish Library. She often engaged in lively conversation about politics, professional football and current events. She enjoyed travel, talk about travel, dining out and music. She particularly loved her church, St. David’s Episcopal Church, and her faith.She is preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Richard Johns Murphy, and her parents Mary Pearl Noland Christian and Harvey Christian.Survivors include close friends, Kathryn Ellerbe Pardue of Alto and Carolyn Ellerbe Ware of Weatherford, Texas; special cousin, Kenny Harper of Rayville, as well as many beloved relatives and dear friends.Pallbearers will be Kenny Harper, Larry Milby, Daniel Wooding Sartor, Jr. and James Ford Ware.Honorary pallbearers will be David Michael Bender, Robert W.
