On March 29, 2015, Kent “Lovell” McLeland went home to be with our heavenly father. Services will be held at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, April 1, 2015, in the chapel at Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe, with Rev. Roger Stoffer and Rev. Larry Farris officiating. Interment will follow at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery.He leaves behind his wife of 53 years, Odessa Burch McLeland; two daughters, Tracy Pittman and husband Tim of West Monroe, LA, Carrie Robertson and husband Noel of Start, LA; two sons, Derek McLeland and wife Ikumi of Okinawa, Japan, Ray McLeland of La Port, Indiana; 10 grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.He loved his family, church, playing soft ball, and fishing. He was a lifelong resident of Monroe, LA. He had an associate degree in business but spent 23 years at the City of Monroe in carpentry.He was preceded in death by mother, Cloydell; father, Frank Kent; brothers, Francis, Wade, and James; and sister, Sarah Alice.Pallbearers will be Noel Robertson, Tim Pittman, Cody Binkley, Tyler Binkley, Colby Barfield, and Kenneth Coates.
