Memorial Services for Mrs. Lavella “Tootsie” Bragg, 88 of Monroe, LA will be held at1:30 PM Saturday, August 1, 2009 at St. Matthews Catholic Church with Father Joe Puthuppally officiating.
Mrs. Bragg was born on January 15, 1921 in Orme, Tennessee and passed away on July 25, 2009 in West Monroe, LA. She was a member of St. Matthews Catholic Church and a 60 year resident of Monroe. She retired from The Palace Department Store as a sales clerk. Mrs. Bragg was an avid reader and known as a jokester, always full of humor. She was also known for giving nicknames. Tootsie was well loved and respected by her family and friends. She was a wonderful provider as a mother and was always a strong shoulder to cry on.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Herschell Ray Bragg; parents, Marvin and Lou Barnes; brothers, Barney Barnes and Buster Barnes; and great granddaughter, Shelby Fulton.
She is survived by her sons, Danny Bragg and Gil Bragg and wife Mary; grandchildren, Scott Bragg, Staci Leake, Gordon Bragg, Sherri Walker, Shelley Gossett, Summer Fulton, Gina Cappo, and Toni Hicks; and numerous great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
