Funeral services for Mrs. Lela Williams Ashley Jones, 87, of Monroe, will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, December 4, 2007, at Mulhearn Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel with Rev. John Carroll Williams and Rev. Joe Solomon officiating. Interment will be in Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery, 623 Hwy 80 East, Monroe, under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe.
Mrs. Jones passed away Thursday, November 29, 2007, at St. Francis North Hospital. She was a member of Lea Joyner Memorial United Methodist Church and the Young At Heart Group at Lea Joyner. She was preceded in death by her husband, Luther N. Jones.
Survivors include her daughter, Sheila Manes and husband Mike of New Iberia, LA; two grandchildren, Slade and Seth Manes, who call her Mimi; one brother, Joe Williams of Baton Rouge, LA; sister, Betty Singleton of Monroe; and three step-children.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 1:00 PM until service time at Mulhearn Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Lea Joyner Memorial United Methodist Church.
The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Daisy McHenry, Dr. Thomas Williams, and Dr. Charles Mason for doing so much for Mrs. Jones.
