Funeral services for Leroy Russ, 80, of Monroe, LA., will be held at 10:00AM Saturday, May 14, 2016, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Monroe, with Rev. Danny Chance and Rev. Rory Chance officiating. Interment will follow at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery, Monroe, LA.Mr. Russ died Tuesday, May 10, 2016, at his residence. He was a barefoot punter for Neville High School football team, and was a huge Saints and LSU football fan. He loved hunting and fishing. Mr. Russ was a retired insurance adjuster for Crawford and Company. He was a U.S. Air Force Veteran, serving during the Korean War.Mr. Russ was preceded in death by two brothers, Leon Russ and Paul Russ; and one sister Earlene Taylor.Survivors include wife of 55 years, Willie Earl “Shang” Russ; children, Starlett Russ Carter and husband Chris of Katy, TX; Rodney Russ and wife Vanessa of Denton, TX; grandchildren, Bailey Carter; Rod, Andrew, and Ellie Russ; brother, Wesley Russ and wife Polly of Swartz, LA; and sister, Betty Riley and husband Larry of Winnsboro, LA.Pallbearers will be his nephews.
