Funeral services for Mrs. Lois Carter Stephens, 90, of Monroe, will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, January 25, 2008, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe with Dr. Bill Dye officiating. Interment will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Calhoun, LA.
Mrs. Stephens passed away Wednesday, January 23, 2008. She was a member of North Monroe Baptist Church. She served in the U.S. Army as a Registered Nurse during WWII in North Africa, France, and Italy. She spent most of her nursing career in the Houston, TX area. She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond W. Stephens; her parents, Ben and Alma Carter; four brothers, Claude, Wilma, James, and Jack Carter; two sisters, Edna Carter and Louise Carter.
Survivors include two sisters, Margaret Carter Plugge and Betty Jo Carter Jones; Numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be men from Agape Sunday School Class, North Monroe Baptist Church.
Visitation will be Friday from 12:00 Noon until service time at Mulhearn Funeral Home, 2308 Sterlington Road, Monroe, LA.
