Funeral services for Mrs. Lonie Gertrude Cox Spence, 79, of Sterlington, LA, will be held at 10:00 AM Thursday, October 30, 2008, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe, with Rev. Larry Stafford officiating. Interment will follow in Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery.

Mrs. Spence passed away on Monday, October 27, 2008. She was a cashier at Sears, an Accounts Service Supervisor at Central Bank for 18 years, and a member of First United Methodist Church of Monroe. Mrs. Spence was a devoted wife and a loving mother and grandmother. She enjoyed cooking a loving meal, spending time with her family and friends, and will be deeply missed. She was preceded in death by her grandson, Zack Spence.

Survivors include her husband of fifty-seven years, Alven Spence; two sons, Lanny Spence and wife Susan of Monroe, LA, and Randy Spence and wife Gina of Farmerville, LA; sister, Doris Riels of West Monroe, LA; four grandchildren, Randi Spence, T. J. Spence, Lee Spence, and Emily Spence; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Ron Spence, Gary Taylor, Matt Spence, Ray Roberson, Keith Willard, and Stacy Savage.

Visitation will be Wednesday from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe.

Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church of Monroe, or to the Cancer Society.
