Keith, as he was known by his family and friends, passed away in the early morning of May 17, 2018, following a long illness. Keith was born in Quinlan, OK, July 28, 1934, to Joe Hervey Hopkins and Pauline Benefiel. After graduating from Northwestern Oklahoma State University in Alva, he became a high school girls’ basketball coach and taught health and physical education classes. Later, along with his family, he opened Hopkins Shoe Mart in Woodward, OK. While in Woodward he was very active in community activities including the Lion’s Club and the Episcopal church.

Several years passed and Keith became interested in the oil industry and moved to Oklahoma City; he started an oil-related business and remained there until he met his wife-to-be, Lloydelle. In 1984, Keith and Lloydelle moved to Monroe and opened Career Training Specialist, a proprietary vocational school.

Keith was preceded in death by his parents, Pauline and Joe; and his infant brother, Kenneth Lee.

Keith is survived by his beloved wife, Llyodelle Walters Hopkins; daughter, Teresa Noel and her husband Paul, grandchildren, McKenzie, Jacob and his wife Angela, great-granddaughter, Ellie Grace, and grandson, Max; son, Tracy Joe and his wife Rhonda, grandchildren, Taylor and Gavin; stepson, John H. Birdsong, III and his wife Lisa, grandchildren, Mary Claire, Katherine, Erin, Holly and her husband John, and great-grandchildren, Hunter and Georgia Kate; and brother, Denny and wife Marion.

Keith will be remembered as a kind, generous, caring, and fun-loving man who loved his family, his friends, and certainly, his Lord. He will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him.

Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
