Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Augusta Gilley, 94, of Swartz, will be held at 10:00 AM Thursday, September 20, 2007, at Loch Arbor Baptist Church with Rev. Andy Myrick officiating. Interment will be in Lone Cherry Cemetery near Mangham, LA under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe.
Mrs. Gilley, a retired LPN from St. Francis Regional Medical Center, passed away Tuesday, September 18, 2007. She was a member of Loch Arbor Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hulet Gilley; and son, Earl Bennett Gilley.
Survivors include her daughters, Peggy Canterberry and husband Charles Everett, Dorothy Coleman and husband Hugh Allen, and Mary Louise Lockett and husband William H, all of Swartz, LA; two sisters, Betty Howard of Columbia, LA, and Lucy Dear of Monroe; nine grandchildren, twenty-two great-grandchildren, and nine great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Winfred Wade Crenshaw, Jr., Hugh Allen Coleman, Jr., Hugh Allen Coleman, III, G. David Grubbs, John W. Wilhite, Jr., and Michael Kirkland. Honorary pallbearers will be Seth Grubbs, Sam Coleman, and Levi Canady.
Visitation will be Wednesday from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Loch Arbor Baptist Church.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to Hospice Care of Louisiana and special thanks to Caregivers Nita Gandy and Angie Jackson for their tender loving care of our loved one.
