Services for Mrs. Clara S. Brown, age 96 of Winnsboro, LA will be at 3:00 p.m. Friday, October 30, 2009
at Temple Baptist Church in Winnsboro with Dr. Bill Robertson officiating, assisted by Rev. Jason Foster.
Interment will follow in New Winnsboro Cemetery under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home of Winnsboro.
Mrs. Brown passed away at her home in the early morning hours of Wednesday, October 28th. She had been a resident of Winnsboro for 76 years. She and Marion Floyd Brown had a successful grocery store,
“Brown’s Grocery” from October 18, 1939 until July 31, 1966, a total of 27 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Marion Floyd Brown, her parents; James Henry Shepherd and Pearl Fulford Shepherd, her sisters; Sally Mulhearn, Mattie Boies, her brothers; John Henry Shepherd, Arthur Shepherd, Carl Shepherd, Rev. Jimmy Shepherd, and daughter-in-law; Mildred Foy Brown.
Survivors include:
Son and Daughter-in-Law: Rev. Bobby Brown and wife Faye Strahan Brown of West Monroe, LA.
Grandchildren: Rev. Alan Brown and wife Donna Elliott Brown, Missionaries in Mexico.
Blendia Ann Taylor and husband Charlie Taylor of Sallisaw, OK.
Great Grandchildren: Chrissie Casscio and husband Casey of Bossier City, LA.
Casey Brown of Bossier City, LA.
Ryan Taylor of Sallisaw, OK.
Great Great Grandchildren: Shelby Chelette of Bossier City, LA.
Isabella Maria Casscio of Bossier City, LA.
Alexus Taylor of Oklahoma.
Several Nieces and Nephews.
Pallbearers will be: Bob Nelson, Casey Brown, Ryan Taylor, Wayne Free, Timothy McBroom, Andy McBroom and David McBroom.
Visitation will be from from 6:00 till 9:00 p.m. Thursday, October 29, 2009 at Temple Baptist Church in Winnsboro, LA.
