Patsy "Pat" Morse
April 21, 1935 — February 7, 2022
Patsy (Pat) Barnes Morse went to meet Jesus, her Lord and Savior on February 7, 2022.
She was preceded in death by her parents, O.A. Barnes and Mamie Johnson Barnes; Sister, Aline (Dena) Barnes Wright; brother, Bill J. Barnes; and her husband, Shelby A. Morse.
Shelby and Pat married August 25, 1956. Shelby passed away on July 22, 2009.
She is survived by her daughter, Mignon Morse of Wylie, Texas, and numerous cousins.
Pat was born in Monroe, Louisiana on April 21, 1935, and passed away at the Oaks at Liberty Grove in Rowlett, Texas, on February 7, 2022. She moved to Wylie in 2017 to be near her daughter, Mignon.
Pat was a graduate of Ouachita Parish High School. She earned a baccalaureate degree and master's degree plus thirty graduate hours from the University of Louisiana at Monroe and Louisiana State University.
She taught High school mathematics for 15 years and was the director of Career Services at ULM which included the placement, testing, counseling, and scholarship department for 25 years.
Pat was an active member of the First United Methodist Church of West Monroe, the Ed Stinson Sunday School class, charter member of Phi Mu Sorority Chapter Alpha Rho, Delta Kappa Gamma, Peo Chapter AZ, University Women, National Honor Society, President of Louisiana Placement Council, a Board Member of National Placement Council, Panhellenic Advisor, Garden Club, Trenton Society and Mensa. In the last two years Pat became an out-of-town member of Covenant United Methodist Church of Lafayette.
At her request, a private memorial service will be held with Reverend Jon Tellifero officiating under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home.
