Peggy Lou Spears

Memorial Services for Mrs. Peggy Lou Spears will be held at 9:00 A.M., Monday, June 29, 2020, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home, West Monroe with Rev. Danny Thomas officiating. Interment will follow in Northeast Louisiana Veterans Cemetery in Rayville, LA. Visitation will be held from 8:30 A.M. until service time on Monday.

Peggy Lou Spears, 87, of Calhoun, LA, was born on March 22, 1933, in Globe, AZ, and passed away on April 6, 2020, at her residence in Calhoun, LA.

She is also preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Wayne J. Spears; son, Steven Spears; mother, Lela Adams; father, Cecil Foutz; stepmom, Janice Lee; sister, Della Smith; granddaughter, Cassidy Arizona Spears and grandson, Zachary Wayne Spears.

She was a member of Ridge Avenue Baptist Church in West Monroe, LA. Mom was an avid golfer and bowler. She loved her family and life. Mrs. Spears worked as a secretary for daddy in his oil and gas business and later went to work for Dillard’s, where she retired in 2011.

Survivors include her children, Daryl Spears, Darlene LaBorde, and Robert W. Spears and wife, Pam; brother, Jospeh Cecil Foutz; sister, Joyce Lee Foutz; grandchildren, Cassidy Burns and husband, Caleb, Dakota Spears and wife, Kellie, Trampis W. Spears, Candi Spears, Brandi Spears, Rusty Spears and wife, Emily, Steven Spears, Jennifer Gowen, Kaitlyn Spears, Hailey Gowen; fifteen great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, and nephews; and special friends, Joan Moore, and Ruby O`Bryant.
