Renee Breard Wright

Funeral services will be held for Renée Breard Wright on Friday, July 27, 2018, at 11:00 AM at Jesus the Good Shepherd Catholic Church, 2510 Emerson St, Monroe, with Father Job Edathinatt officiating, assisted by Deacon Tom Deal. Interment will follow at St. Matthew Catholic Church Cemetery under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe.

Renée was born on June 27, 1947, in Monroe, Louisiana, and passed away after a brief illness on July 22, 2018, at her home in Monroe. She was a long-time resident of Monroe and was a member of Jesus the Good Shepherd Catholic Church.

She graduated from Neville High School and Northeast Louisiana University, with a Master of Education. She also studied abroad at the University of Bath in Bath, England. She began her teaching career in Morehouse Parish and later in Monroe City Schools at Lida Benton and Lexington Elementary Schools. After her retirement, she continued in the teaching profession as director of the tutorial program at Johnny Robinson’s Boys Home.

Renée loved traveling to England to visit her Uncle Jack, Aunt Vera, and cousin, Marea. She would travel to the UK every summer to stay at her favorite B & B, the Bay Tree Inn in Broadstairs.

Renée is preceded in death by her mother, Anne Goodman Breard. She is survived by her father, Reneau G. Breard; brothers, Daniel A. Breard and wife Judy, and Ken Breard and wife Susan; cousin, Marea Goodman of Keswick, England; nieces and nephews, Daniel A. Breard Jr. and wife Miranda, Christopher Breard and wife Meg, Mamie Breard, and Griffing Breard and wife Paige; great-nieces and nephew, Mary Kathryn Breard, George Daniel Breard, Caroline Breard, and Cate Breard. Renée is also survived by her aunt, Mary Edith Hayes; and many cousins.

Pallbearers are Peter Hayes, Tod Cagle, Danny Breard, Christopher Breard, Griffing Breard, and Ely McPherson.

Memorials may be made to Johnny Robinson’s Boys Home, 3209 South Grand St, Monroe, LA 71202, or a church or charity of your choice.
