Richard Hayes "Dick" Pipes

Richard Hayes “Dick” Pipes was born in Monroe, LA, on January 13, 1932, and died in Monroe on April 8, 2022.
A small family service will be held at Grace Episcopal Church on April 11, 2022.

Dick was a lifelong resident of Ouachita Parish and graduated from Ouachita Parish High School. He then attended Louisiana State University and Louisiana State University Law School, where he was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon. After passing the Louisiana State Bar Examination and being admitted to the Louisiana State Bar, he joined his father and brother in the Pipes and Pipes Law Firm.

He served in the U.S. Army and was stationed at Fort Hood, Texas. He was honorably discharged. He served several terms as a U.S. Commissioner and was a member of the Fourth Judicial District Bar Association, the Louisiana State Bar Association, and the American Bar Association. He also enjoyed his memberships in the Optimist Club, YMCA and Monroe Racquet Club.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother, William Ford Pipes and Ruth Pipes (nee Ford); and his wife of 66 years, Jo Ann Pipes (nee Ransom).

He is survived by his brother, William Ford Pipes, Jr.; daughter, Nancy Adele Pipes Bancroft; and sons, Richard Hayes Pipes, Jr., William Ransom “Randy” Pipes and wife Barbee Singleton Pipes, and Wesley Ford Pipes; as well as numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Grace Episcopal Church, River Oaks School or the charity of your choice.
