Rosemary Parbst

April 10, 1932 — September 27, 2016

Rosemary Williams Parbst passed away on September 27, 2016 in the home of her daughter surrounded by family and loved ones. A private Graveside Service will be held at a later date under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home with Father Robert Dandridge officiating.

Rosemary was born on April 10, 1932 in Bentonville, AR to Manson and Verna Criner. She attended Bentonville Schools and eventually graduated High School with the class of 1951. Rosemary left Bentonville to attend nursing school and received her RN diploma in 1954 in Fayetteville, AR. She then met and married Hugh Williams in 1954. The couple had 2 children, Kathleen and Rebecca. Her education continued through the years and she obtained a Bachelors and Masters in nursing. She also received a clinical specialty in Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing from the Northwestern University in the early 80’s. She used her nursing education primarily in Public Health and Nursing Education. She retired as Assistant Professor of Nursing from Louisiana Tech in the mid 90’s. She is preceded in death by her husband Hugh Williams; and daughter, Kathleen. After the death of her husband, Rosemary moved back to Arkansas and built her dream retirement home in Bella Vista, AR. Rosemary was very active in the Lutheran Church in Bella Vista and this is where she met Robert Parbst, whom she would eventually marry. Rosemary had 2 stepchildren with Robert; John Parbst and Sue Lehner. Robert also preceded her in death.

Rosemary is survived by her daughter, Rebecca W. Brown and her husband Tim; grandson, Dustin Brown and wife, Jessica; 2 step-granddaughters, April Goforth and husband Shannon Goforth, and Rae Brown. Rosemary leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews who were very dear to her.

The family would like to give a special thanks to the following people who assisted in Rosemary’s care; Dr. Ron Hammett and his staff, Dr. Ronald Keopke and his staff, and Dr. James Gordan and his staff. Also, a big thanks to the staff of Glenwood Home Health, especially Julia. A very grateful thanks to Louisiana Hospice and Palliative Care for the attention and support given during this difficult time. A special thanks to Janice Seagars and Audrey Fite who were there to care for Rosemary up until the very end. Also, thank you to Queen Owens who was helpful during the early stages of Rosemary’s illness.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to any animal shelter or organizations that care for cats.
