Funeral services for Mr. Roy Lee McNaughten, 67, of Monroe, will be held at 10:00 AM Wednesday, July 23, 2008, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe, with Rev. Jason R. McNaughten and Rev. Norman Bryant officiating. Interment will follow in Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery.

Mr. McNaughten passed away Sunday, July 20, 2008. He was born in Burkeville, TX and was a resident of Monroe since 1962. He was a member of North Monroe Baptist Church. Roy was employed by G. C. Murphy and Ouachita Parish School Board. He and his wife Patricia have owned and operated Mac’s Printing since 1976. He loved the Lord and served him daily; he treasured spending time with his beloved family and friends. Roy also enjoyed his hobby of woodworking and made many beautiful pieces of furniture for his family.

Mr. McNaughten was preceded in death by his parents, George and Dolly McNaughten; sister, Helen McNaughten; and father-in-law and mother-in-law, Coleman and Dorothy Carlisle.

Survivors include his wife of forty-four years, Patricia Ann McNaughten; daughters, Janice Lea McNaughten, and Lisa McNaughten Prentice and husband Zack; son, Jason Roy McNaughten and wife Jenifer Lori; grandchildren, Anne Catherine Standley, Ainzley Grace McNaughten, and John Dalton Prentice; brother, Don McNaughten; brothers-in-law, Charles Carlisle and wife Lanelle, and Greg Carlisle and wife Gail; mother-in-law, Helen Brooks Carlisle; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles.

Pallbearers will be Carroll Dozier, David Beezley, Charles “Sonny” Standifer, Robert White, Gary Joyce, and Ted Sisson. Honorary pallbearers will be the men of Standifer Sunday School Class at North Monroe Baptist Church.

Visitation will be Tuesday from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe.

Memorials can be made to the building fund of North Monroe Baptist Church, Gospel Nuggets, or The Gideons.

The family wishes to extend a special thanks to Dr. Marshall Leary, Dr. Thomas Williams, and Patients Choice Hospice for their gentle compassionate care for Roy during his illness.

Roy was a kind, gentle man that loved helping anyone that he could in his life. He is now in the presence of his Lord and will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
