Funeral Services for Mr. Roy Prinston “Jack” Gaston, 82, of West Monroe, LA will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, September 26, 2010 in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home West Monroe, LA with Rev. Jerry Salisbury and Rev. Ken Renfroe officiating. Interment will follow in the Indian Village Cemetery in Calhoun, LA.

Mr. Gaston passed away on September 23, 2010 at home surrounded by family after a lengthy illness. He was born July 1, 1928 at home in Indian Village, Jackson Parish, LA to Matthew “Buck” and Allie Gaston. He was a charter member of the West Monroe Methodist Protestant Church in West Monroe, LA. Mr. Gaston served in the United States Army during Korea, he also was a Mason, and member of the West Monroe Riding Club. He enjoyed making people happy with his passion for cooking and passing a good time. In his younger years, he was active with his horses and in later years, watching Rebel Football, Nascar and anything that his boys and grandchildren were doing. He loved his church and his family. Mr. Gaston is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Ted Gaston; sisters, Juanita Phillips, Nancy Felice, Dixie Cannon; and brother-in-law, Kent Ewing.

Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Billie Lois Ewing Gaston; sons, Jack Lane Gaston and wife, LaDonna of West Monroe, LA, and Billy Wane Gaston of Choudrant, LA; granddaughters, Danielle and Kinsey Gaston of Grapevine, TX; grandson, Tyler Gaston of Lacassine, LA; brother, Aubrey Gaston and wife, Martha Ann of Choudrant, LA; sister-in-law, Barbara Ewing of West Monroe, LA and many loving nieces, nephews and friends.

Pallbearers will be Timothy Gaston, Mark Gaston, Matthew Gaston, Wesley Hilborn, Jeff Bunn and David Crawford. Honorary Pallbearers will be Billy Banks, Billy Redmond, Bob Leonard, Ricky Young, L.V. Kane and Tom Owens.

Memorials may be made to the West Monroe Methodist Protestant Church.

Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Saturday, September 25, 2010 at Mulhearn Funeral Home West Monroe, LA
