Memorial services for Shelby Anderson Morse, 77, of West Monroe will be at 3:00 P.M. Friday July 24, 2009 at Parkview Baptist Church Chapel in Monroe, LA, with Rev. Jon Tellifero, Rev. David Womack, Rev. Damon Heinrich and Dr. Don Barnes officiating.

Shelby was born in Winnsboro, LA. on February 4, 1932 and passed away at his home on July 22, 2009 after a long illness. He was a graduate of Winnsboro High School. Shelby attended Louisiana State University and was a graduate of the University of Louisiana at Monroe formerly Northeast Louisiana University. Following graduation from college he enlisted in the U.S. Army and served his country during the Korean War. He was stationed in Seoul, Korea. Following his military service Shelby managed the family business, Morse Department Store, for many years. He later worked for the State of Louisiana Department of Elections until his retirement.
Shelby is preceded in death by his father and mother, Shelby and Myrtle Anderson Morse.

He is survived by his wife, Pat Barnes Morse; daughter, Mignon Morse of Dallas, Texas; brother Willie A. Morse; and two special children in his life, Anna Katherine and Alex Neal Sikes. He is also survived by numerous special aunts and cousins.

Visitation will be from 1:30 P.M. until service time Friday at Parkview Baptist Church.
