Funeral Services for Shirley Sherrod Hammons, 75, of West Monroe, LA will be held at 10:00AM Thursday, October 15, 2015 in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home, West Monroe with Pastor Tom Lowe officiating. Interment will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Calhoun.Shirley was born on February 28, 1940, a native of San Antonio, TX and passed away on October 12, 2015 in West Monroe, LA. She was also a former resident of Slaughter, LA. She loved good food, music, football, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Shirley had a beautiful smile that could light up a room, and was known to fill the house with the sounds of singing. She is preceded in death by her parents, Maudie Marie Delaney Sherrod and Newsom Chester “Ronnie” Sherrod.She is survived by her devoted husband of 49 years, Ronnie Hammons; daughter, JoAnn VanGordon; son, Ron Hammons, Jr. and wife, Sherry; grandchildren, Dana Lacara, Trey Hammons, LeAnn Hammons, Catherine Hammons; and great-grandchildren, Christian and Ava Harris.Pallbearers will be Richard Hammons, Mark Hammons, Michael Scafidi, Michael Hammons, Donald Hammons, and Winston Hammons.Visitation will be held from 5:00PM until 7:00PM Wednesday, October 14, 2015 at Mulhearn Funeral Home, West Monroe.Online Registry/Condolences: www.mulhearnfuneralhome.com Arrangements under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, West Monroe, LA.
