Graveside Services for Mrs. Virginia Caples Whitman, 87, of West Monroe, LA will be held at 3:00 P.M. Sunday, June 20, 2010 at the Roselawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Calhoun, LA with Rev. Robert Leach officiating under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home West Monroe, LA.
Mrs. Whitman was born on September 21, 1922 and passed away at the Landmark Nursing and Rehab Center on June 18, 2010. She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert P. Whitman; parents, Gene and Francis Caples; daughter, Judy Kay Stuckey; step-son, Dennis E. Whitman; granddaughter, Melanie Whitman; sister, Lucille Mayo and brothers, Otis, Odis and Roy Caples.
Survivors include her daughter, Pat Scallion and husband Troy of Saline, LA; son, Woodie K. Godwin and wife, Deborah of Downsville, LA; step-son, Robert P. Whitman Jr. and wife, Janice of Austin, TX; twelve grandchildren, Jason Milby, Darla Tippen, Michelle Chambless, Melissa Bradshaw, Heather Sepulvado, Kenny Godwin, Melinda Duncan, Lance Whitman, Dennis Wall, Justin Wall, Andrew Whitman, and Matthew Whitman; eighteen great grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Jason Milby, Steve Tippen, Woodie Godwin Jr., Gary Stuckey, Ben Duncan, and Paul Chambless.
Visitation will be from 1:00 P.M. until 2:30 P.M. Sunday, June 20, 2010 at Mulhearn Funeral Home West Monroe, LA
Memorials may be made to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
