Virginia Cascio Leblanc

March 26, 1945 — January 21, 2017

The Funeral Mass for Virginia “Gennie” Cascio LeBlanc, 71, of Monroe will be held at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, January 25, 2017, at Jesus the Shepherd Catholic Church in Monroe, with Rev. Job Edathinatt Scaria officiating. Interment will follow in the Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery, under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe.

Gennie was born on March 26, 1945 in Monroe and passed away on January 21, 2017, at her home, following a lengthy illness. She retired from the Louisiana Department of Health as a Medicaid Supervisor. For over 30 years, she enjoyed her profession and colleagues. Following retirement, she delighted in weekly lunches with former colleagues. She was a graduate of Ouachita Parish High School, Northeast Louisiana State College and Jesus the Good Shepherd Catholic Church.

She was preceded in death by her loving parents, Lennie and Katie Cascio.

Virginia is survived by the love of her life, husband of 39 years, Darell LeBlanc; children: Nicole Johnson and Michael LeBlanc and wife Jessica; grandchildren: Jacob, Joshua and Andrew Griggs and Michaela LeBlanc; her sisters and brothers-in-law: Grace Cascio Houston and Johnny Houston, Leonarda Cascio Tracy and Russell Tracy; nieces: Mary LaMarca Rhea and husband Jamie Rhea, Paulen LaMarca Luttgeharm and Katie Lenn Tracy; great nieces and nephew: Mikki and Blaise Caldwell and Riley Luttgeharm; and cousins: Joanne Crone, Virginia Hogard, Stephanie Hays, Stacy Smith, Jonathan Hayden, and Susan Hopper; special friend Glenda Bryant Lewis and many other relatives and friends who will miss the wonderful advice, good food and love that Gennie shared with all who knew her.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 - 7:00 PM, Tuesday, at Mulhearn Funeral Home in Monroe.

Pallbearers will be Jacob Griggs, Riley Luttgeharm, Bernie Caldwell, Michael LeBlanc, Tony LaMarca and Kevin Hopper.

Memorials may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
