Funeral services for Mrs. Virginia Elizabeth Ashley, 90, of West Monroe, LA will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, August 30, 2009 in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home, West Monroe with Minister Alan Robertson and Minister Mike Kellett officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
Mrs. Ashley was born August 23, 1919 in Sulphur Springs, TX and passed away August 27, 2009 in Monroe, LA. She was member of White’s Ferry Road Church of Christ. She enjoyed cooking and serving others. She is preceded in death by her husband, Victor Noel Ashley.
She is survived by her daughters, Vicki Spruill and husband Wayne, and Beth Burns and husband Rudy; grandchildren, Donna LaBorde and husband Rusty, Ashley Garnett and husband Max, Kristi Horton and husband Garon, Bucky Newell and wife Brenda, Kevin Newell, and Mavi Dean; great grandchildren, Jeremy Thacker and wife Heather, Lane LaBorde and wife Julien, Morgan Johnson and husband Jacob, Tyler Garnett, Hailey Horton, Zack Horton, Landon Horton, Ashley Newell, Courtney Newell, Madison Dean, Meredith Dean, Logan Newell, Landrie Gayle Newell, and Lauren Perry; and great great grandchildren, Jaxon and Jansen Thacker.
Pallbearers will be Travis Sayers, Larry Flowers, Paul Stephens, Bill Durham, Alex Wade, Robert Arthur, Scott Nelson and Troy Culp. Honorary pallbearers will be Phil Brown, John Howard, Randy Kirby, Bill Ashley, Larry West, and her Domino Lunch Bunch.
Visitation will be from 1:15 PM until service time Sunday at Mulhearn Funeral Home, West Monroe.
