Walter Joe Huckabay

A graveside service for Mr. Walter Joe Huckabay, 86, of Monroe, will be held at 10:30am, Thursday, June 2, 2016, at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery, Monroe, with the Rev. John Mabray officiating, under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, West Monroe. Mr. Huckabay was born January 12, 1930 in Peoria, IL, and passed from this life on May 29, 2016 in West Monroe. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War, and a retired watchmaker. He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Huckabay; son, Mark Huckabay; granddaughter, Hannah Huckabay and brother, David Marvin. He is survived by his sons, William Broox Huckabay, and Barry J. Huckabay (Lori). Also surviving him are his sister, Margo Shane, and aunts, Virginia Ireland and Ora Elizabeth Robinson. In addition, he is survived by a large number of cousins, nieces and nephews.Visitation will be Wednesday, June 1, 2016, at Mulhearn Funeral Home, West Monroe, from 5:00pm to 7:00pm.The family would like to thank the employees of the West Monroe Guest House for the quality care they provided during Joes stay there.The family requests that any memorials be made to the Gideons International.
