Funeral services for William B. Levie, 81, of Monroe, will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, August 22, 2016, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Monroe, LA with Rev. Warren Eckhardt officiating. Interment will follow at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery, Monroe, LA.Mr. Levie was born October 25, 1934 in Birmingham, AL and died Thursday, August 18, 2016 in Monroe, LA. He retired after 44 years as the Command Sergeant Major with the Louisiana Army National Guard. He worked with the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development for 47 Years. He was a long time member of North Monroe Baptist Church. Mr. Levie was preceded in death by father, William Theodore Levie; mother, Marguerite Boone Fisher; and brother, Hillman Levie.Survivors include his wife of 60 years in December, Beverly Levie; son, William Kent Levie; grandson, Lance Levie; grandson-in-law, Bobby Woodward; granddaughter, Kaitlyn Woodward; great-granddaughter, Kinsley Woodward; great-grandson, Laken Woodward; nephew, Ted Levie; and niece, Marie Levie.Pallbearers will be Keegan Wiley, Bobby Woodward Jr., Wade Jackson, Peevy Harvey, Jason Harvey and Ted Levie. Honorary pallbearers will be the John Tannehill Sunday school class.
