Alamae McKnight Hattaway

Graveside services celebrating the life of Alamae McKnight Hattaway, 98, of West Monroe, Louisiana will be held at 2:00 P.M., Friday, September 5, 2025, at the pavilion at Hasley Cemetery, under the direction and care of Mulhearn Funeral Home, West Monroe.

Mrs. Hattaway was born on December 28, 1926, in Gilbert, Louisiana and entered the gates of heaven on September 2, 2025, in West Monroe, Louisiana.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, J.L. Hattaway, Sr.; parents, Estol Bridges and Minnie Thompson McKnight; sister, Erlene McKnight Wollerson; brothers, E.B. McKnight and Billy McKnight; and sons-in-law, Burt Collins and Whitty Hood.

Those left to honor and cherish her memory are her children, Janice Collins, Jenny Hood, Kathy Lenard (Charles), and Jesse Hattaway, Jr. (Kathy); grandchildren, Lisa Stephenson (Blain), Randy Collins (Alessandra), Dr. Bradley Hood (Jennifer), Trenton Hood (Brittney), Wendy Terrell (Ben), Kendra Brasher (Kevin), Luke Lenard (Laura), Dr. Rachel Hattaway, and Melissa Hattaway; eighteen great grandchildren, six great great grandchildren, and another great great grandchild on the way; sisters, Fay Perry and Evelyn Mays; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, loved ones, and friends.
