Obituary

Funeral services for Mrs. Anita Shaver Jarrell, 70, of West Monroe, LA, will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Monday, January 5, 2026, at North Monroe Baptist Church with Dr. Greg Clark and Trey Albritton officiating under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home Sterlington Rd., Monroe. Interment will follow at Loch Arbor Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. on Sunday, January 4, 2026, at Mulhearn Funeral Home in Monroe.

Mrs. Jarrell was born on April 21, 1955, in Monroe, LA, and passed away on January 1, 2026, in Monroe.

Anita was a seamstress and loved embroidery. She loved giving away her creations. She cherished spending time with her grandchildren as well as her many close friends and family. Above all, her faith in her Lord Jesus Christ gave her the strength and fortitude she needed during her 25 year battle with Parkinson’s disease.

Mrs. Jarrell was preceded in death by her parents, Billy Clyde Shaver and Margaret Ann Porter.

Survivors include her husband, Michael J. Jarrell of West Monroe, Troy & Melissa Jarrell of Monroe (Son), Jennifer & Brandon Paine of West Monroe (Daughter), Cindy & Mike McMichen of College Station, Texas (Sister), Reggie & Staci Hathaway of Calhoun (Brother), Kyra Hathaway of New Braunfels, TX (Sister), Wade & Susan Hathaway of Monroe (Brother) and Grandsons Tyler, Parker, and Cooper Paine; Cason & Carter Jarrell; Granddaughters Abby & Aubrey Jarrell; and Step-father M.O. Porter of Crossroads, LA.

Pallbearers will be Tyler, Parker & Cooper Paine, Cason & Carter Jarrell and Evan Johnson. Honorary pallbearers will be Cole Hathaway and R. J. Hathaway.
