Obituary

Ann Pitts Rollins, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, artist, and friend, passed away peacefully on May 10, 2026, at the age of 88, in Monroe, LA, which she has called home for over 30 years. Born on January 13, 1938, and raised in Jackson, MS, Ann left this world on Mother’s Day, which is fitting as her loved ones find comfort in imagining her reunited with her two daughters, Charlotte Corrigan Lewis and Mildred “Millie” Buckner Corrigan, whom she missed dearly.

Ann was the daughter of the late Lewis Boykin Pitts and Mildred Wright Pitts and the devoted wife of the late Charles “Bud” Harrison Rollins. Together, Ann and Bud proudly owned and operated their own Slush Puppy franchise, and Ann continued working into her 80s with the same energy and spirit that defined her life.

She is survived by her stepson, Charles “Charlie” Rollins (Lisa) of Covington, LA; grandchildren, Erica Lewis Hazlehurst (Chad) of Nashville, TN, Margaret “Meg” Lewis (Ross Ruello) of New Orleans, LA, Myles Lewis (Caroline) of New Orleans, LA, Harrison Rollins of Covington, LA, and Hunter Rollins of Covington, LA; and four treasured great-grandchildren, Hughes, Charlotte, and Sidney Hazlehurst of Nashville, TN, and Wright Lewis of New Orleans, LA. She is also survived by her sister, Lynn Pitts McKinney (Ron) of Winter Park, FL; her brother, Lewis Boykin “LB” Pitts of Monroe, LA; and her beloved nieces, Shawn Davis of Atlanta, GA and Melissa Madsen of Winter Park, FL. Ann also dearly loved her faithful friends and helpers, Albert Little and Glenda Brooks, whose loyalty, care, and friendship blessed her life over many decades.

Ann was truly one of a kind. A gifted artist with a creative spirit, she brought beauty and warmth into every room she entered. She never met a stranger and was deeply loved throughout her community for her kindness and genuine interest in others. A true social butterfly, Ann treasured time spent with friends and family and had a remarkable ability to make everyone feel special and welcomed.

Her faith was the foundation of her life. A devout Christian, Ann carried herself with grace, resilience, and unwavering trust in God through every season of life.

Ann was a proud alumna of University of Mississippi, where she was a member of Chi Omega and remained a devoted Ole Miss fan throughout her life. In 1959, she was honored as Queen of the Prophets of Persia, a title she cherished, and she always loved attending past queen events whenever she was able.

Her family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to the staff at Ouachita Health and Rehabilitation for the compassionate care they provided over the past several months. They are also deeply grateful for Ann’s many dear friends, whose companionship and love meant so much to her over the years.

Ann lived fully, loved deeply, and left an unforgettable mark on everyone fortunate enough to know her. She will be missed tremendously and remembered always with love, laughter, and gratitude.

A private celebration of life for family and close friends will be held at a later date.
