Annette Kirkham Frantom

June 25, 1943 — April 15, 2022

Funeral Services Celebrating the Life of Mrs. Annette Kirkham Frantom, 78, of Calhoun, LA will be held at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, April 19, 2022, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home West Monroe, LA with Rev. Lynn Malone officiating.

Annette touched many lives in her 78 years on this Earth, and has left a legacy that both honors and shares her love for our Lord and Savior. Annette fought her battle with cancer for 8 1/2 years and won on April 15, 2022,when she was called home to be with the Lord. Annette was born on June 25, 1943, in Monroe, Louisiana to her parents Mose and Maude Kirkham. Shortly after she graduated high school, Annette married her high school sweetheart, who she has now been married to for almost 60 years. Annette went on to care for her children, Stephanie and Kirk, while also helping to run their family business, Frantom’s Hardware. After managing the hardware store, Annette began her job as a Ouachita Parish School Bus Aid, where she created lasting memories with the children that rode her bus for over 20 years. Annette had a heart for people, especially children, and always strived to love them like they were her own.

Annette was anything but ordinary. She never met a stranger and made everyone feel like they were a part of something bigger. She always made sure she took care of everyone else before she cared for herself. Annette found joy in spending time with her family and making others feel at home. You could often find her outside planting flowers, fishing with her family, listening to Elvis, or walking her dogs. She was passionate about spending time with her family and was always checking in to make sure her loved ones were taken care of. Annette loved reconnecting with old classmates and having meaningful conversations with family members. Many of her family and friends describe her as resilient, encouraging, loving, and selfless. Some of her grandchildren’s favorite memories are taking long naps in the hammock, camping in the RV, watching movies, and hatching baby ducks. Annette will be greatly missed by all, but we rest in knowing we will see her again in heaven one day.

Annette is preceded in death by her parents, Mose Edwin and Maude Sandlin Kirkham; sister, Martha Jean Smalling; twin sister, Jeanette Ford; daughter, Stephanie Payne; and granddaughter, Savannah Payne.
