Ava Jeanette Franklin

Funeral Services for Mrs. Ava Jeanette Franklin, of Monroe, LA, will be 2:00 PM Sunday, June 30, 2024, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home Monroe with Rev. Norman Bryant officiating. Interment will be at Providence Memorial Park Cemetery in Lake Providence, LA.

Ava Jeanette Franklin was born in Manilla, AR on June 24, 1934, and passed away on June 26, 2024, surrounded by family and friends at the age of 90. Jeanette was a homemaker and spent her life on the farm in Sondheimer, LA. She loved traveling as often as possible. She was very creative and loved all types of crafts.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Dee Franklin; the love of her life; her parents, Emmett and Mabell Abernathy; sister and brother-in-law, Carlene and Elton Branch.

Jeanette is survived by her children: daughter, Cindy Smith and husband, Gary; sons, Billy Franklin, Jr. and wife, Ann and Mark Franklin and wife, Judy; grandchildren, Kris Sevier, Nikki Murphy and husband, Josh, Justin Franklin and wife, Tonya, Mindy Smith, Shawn Franklin, and Kasey Franklin; great-grandchildren, Austin Murphy and wife Alyssa, Mason Murphy, Cade Scott, Emery Scott, Taylor Franklin, Addison Franklin, Kathryn Franklin, Braeden Franklin, Kenna Franklin, Kensleigh Franklin; brother, Cledis Abernathy and wife, Shirley; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Gary Smith, Josh Murphy, Kris Sevier, Austin Murphy, Cade Scott and Mason Murphy.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Bright Star Ranch Alzheimer's Program for participant scholarship at 1416 Rowland Road, Monroe, LA 71203.

The family wishes to recognize Azalea Estates, Freedom Behavioral, Serenity Home Health, Savannah Grand of West Monroe, and Allegiance Hospice for their excellent care and compassion during these difficult times.

Visitation will be from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM Sunday, June 30, 2024, at Mulhearn Funeral Home Monroe.
