Barbara Joye Quarles Bruscato was born on January 16, 1942 in Corpus Christi, Texas and sadly passed away on January 28, 2022 in Monroe, Louisiana at the age of 80.
Barbara Bruscato was an incredible wife to Joe with a marriage spanning 61 years. Sundays were reserved for family gatherings with Joe, their children, and grandchildren gathered around their table full of her suga and spaghetti. If she wasn’t in the kitchen being teased by Joe, Mimi could be found sewing for her grandbabies or packing a bag for the next game or recital. She could be heard coaching from the stands no matter which of the numerous sports her children and grandchildren played– none of which she played – all of which she knew better than most.

Barbara and Joe had 7 wonderful children together: Angela, Jody, Laurie, Jana, Scott, Bridgette, and Brandon. All to whom she was most dear.

Barbara was born in Corpus Christi and moved to Ruston, Louisiana with her parents, brother, and sister before settling down with Joe in Monroe, Louisiana. Barbara worked for Central Bank, Children’s Orchard, and volunteered at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church.

She is survived by all seven children: daughter Angela Clampit and husband Joe, son Jody Bruscato and wife Melinda, daughter Laurie Bruscato, daughter Jana Bruscato Chowns, son Scott Bruscato and wife Lori, daughter Bridgette Moore and husband David, and son Brandon Bruscato and wife Susan, 20 grandchildren: Lindsay Logan and husband Jody, Lauren McMurray and husband Jim, John Paul Bruscato and wife Mary Caroline, Kaitlyn Johnston and husband Billy, Amy Hernandez and husband Tyler, Natalie Clampit and fiancé Jeffrey, Jordan Bruscato, Leighton Bruscato, Abby Lee and husband Hunter, Ashton Spillers and husband Spencer, Garryn Chowns, Braden Bruscato, Easton Bruscato, Isabelle Bruscato, Emarie Bruscato, Brooklyn Bruscato, Olivia Moore, Jacob Moore, Elizabeth Bruscato, and Joseph Bruscato, and 10 great grandchildren: Cooper, Hendrix, Forrest, Lennon, Gray, James Theodore (JT), Matthew, Ava, Abram, Charlotte. Her brother in law William Berry.

She was preceded in death by the love of her life Joe Bruscato. Her parents Ed and Joyce Quarles, sister Lynda Berry, and her brother Eddie Quarles.

Pallbearers will be grandsons.

Memorials can be made to St Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
