Obituary

A graveside service for Mrs. Barbara Newman Fenstomocher, 85, of Ouachita Parish, LA, will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Saturday, September 19, 2026, at Mulhearn Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel in Monroe, with Rev. Alvin R. Sharp officiating, under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home Sterlington Rd., Monroe.

Mrs. Fenstomocher was born on July 4, 1941, in Truxno, LA, and passed away on September 11, 2026, in Monroe, LA. She attended AL Smith Elementary in Sterlington, graduated from Ouachita High School in 1959, and Northeast Louisiana State College in 1963.

Barbara was a schoolteacher for 14 years and a computer programmer for AT&T for over 30 years.

Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, Al; parents, Fred and Lorene; sister, Shirley Bradshaw; grandson, Reagan Newman; and nephew, Matt Magee.

Survivors include her son, Todd Newman and wife Kim of Monroe, LA; stepdaughters, Kristin Rodriguez of Glen Ridge, NJ and Erin Fenstomocher of Woodbridge, VA; stepson, Ricky Fenstomocher of Huntington, MD; brother-in-law, W.A. Bradshaw of Albuquerque, NM; nieces, Marcia McClarren of Albuquerque, NM and Kim Brockner of Monroe, LA; nephew, Trey Magee of Monroe, LA; granddaughter, Kelly Chriceol and husband Jordan; great granddaughter, Darby Chriceol; and grandson, Ty Newman.

Serving as pallbearers will be Ardell Rodgers, Scott Martin, Kenny Dumas, Trey Magee, Jordan Chriceol and Todd Holyfield. Honorary pallbearers will be Rooster Oliveaux, John Frady, Daryl Peters and Keith Schoenover.

The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Stuart Melton and Dr. Elliott Nipper, caregivers, Joyce Boyd, Joyce George and Yasmine Coleman, who provided compassionate dependable care to Barbara over the last year and her weekly bible study group.
