Barbara was born on August 27, 1936 to Margaret and Robert F. Rhone, Sr. and passed away on October 15, 2025, in West Monroe, Louisiana.
Barbara was a lifelong resident of Ouachita Parish, Louisiana and was educated in the Ouachita Parish School System. She was proud to be an alumni of the first graduating class of West Monroe High School in 1954. Then she went on to attend Bish Mathis Institute. Upon graduating she started her career as a Clerk of Court for the Monroe City Court. She proudly worked for Judge William Harper, Judge William Crowe, Elvis Stout, and John Larry Lolley over a period of thirty-three years. She cherished the friendships of her coworkers and the public over the years.
She and her family were charter members of Brownville Methodist Church, which later evolved into Asbury Methodist Church. She loved the Lord and her church family with all her heart. Due to the pandemic, she was limited to televised services during her later years.
Barbara loved to travel and went all over the United States, whether it be national parks and many foreign countries. She was an avid reader and talented seamstress. Barbara loved the theatre, the Monroe Symphony and many college activities. She had many hobbies like crafting, cooking, and she even taught line dancing at the Ouachita Council of Aging for more than twenty years.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Margaret and Robert F. Rhone, Sr.; brother, Robert F. Rhone, Jr.; and nephew-in-law, Mark Zachry.
Those left to honor and cherish her memory are her sister, Denna Maureen Rhone Ballard (Richard); niece, Tammy Ballard Zachry Hammons (Gary); sister-in-law, Frances Luffey Rhone; great niece, Katie Zachry Meredith (Jamie) and their sons: Noah, Jonah, Luke, and Levi; great nephew, Paul Zachry (Lauren) and their children: Haylea and Owen.
Our family would like to extend our love and gratitude to the staff and friends at the Gardens of Georgia Tucker and especially to the CNA’s who took care of her Shorty, Melissa and Lily and ACG Hospice and their care of her as well.
Memorials in memory of Barbara may be made to Asbury Methodist Church at 2100 New Natchitoches Road West Monroe, Louisiana or to Gideons International at P.O. Box 989 West Monroe, Louisiana 71294-0989
