Barbara Ann Wingo Wright, 87, of Monroe, LA, went to her heavenly home on Monday, April 10, 2023 after a lengthy illness.

Barbara was born on July 31, 1935 to Fred and Eula Wingo in Corinth, MS. She grew up in Eudora, AR, where she graduated from Eudora High School. After high school, Barbara moved to Monroe, LA, to attend Northeast Louisiana University. After moving to Monroe, she met the love of her life, David B. Wright. Their whirlwind romance started on a blind date and ended in 51 years of marriage.

David and Barbara made their home in Monroe, LA, and raised their two children: Deborah and David, Jr. Barbara worked as a legal secretary for many years and later the U.S. probation office. Barbara was a member of the St. Mark's United Methodist Church, a charter member of Bayou Oaks Garden Club, and served as a volunteer for local hospices for many years. She enjoyed reading, cooking, traveling, music, shopping, crossword puzzles, coffee, theater, board games, and most of all playing canasta with her dear friends. Barbara "Mamaw”, loved her family more than anything. She loved taking care of and spending time with all of her family. She would tell anyone who would listen that she had the best family in the world. Barbara was lovingly known as "Queen B” and she wore her crown well.
