Bernard Joseph "B.J." Grenrood, Jr.

Funeral Services for Mr. Bernard Joseph “B.J.” Grenrood, Jr., 86, of Monroe, LA, will be 12:00 P.M. Saturday, July 1, 2023, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home Monroe with Deacon Scott Brandle and Dr. Woods Watson officiating. Private Interment will be held at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery.

Mr. Grenrood was born June 25, 1937, and passed away on June 28, 2023. He grew up in New Orleans. Mr. Grenrood served his country in the United States Army. He received his law degree from Loyola University in New Orleans and practiced an investment consultant attorney. Mr. Grenrood attended St. Matthew Catholic Church and First West Baptist. He enjoyed spending time with his wife and family and attending his weekly bible studies on Monday and Wednesday.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Bernard Joseph Grenrood, Sr. and Catherine Cobb Grenrood.

Survivors include his loving wife, JoAnne Emerson Grenrood; seven children, Cindy Baker (Rex III.), George Grenrood, Brian Grenrood (Kelly), Jennifer Schiavo (Chris), Jennifer Jackson (Victor Cascio), Jessica Evans (Ray), and Tom Malloy (Nikki); 18 grandchildren, Narlen Baker, Rex Baker, IV. (Maria Vidart), Catherine Ellis (Nelson), Molly Grenrood, Emmy Greenrood, Ellen Grenrood, Anna Grenrood, Andrew Grenrood, Nicholas Schiavo, Amelia Schiavo, Jonathan Malloy, Victoria Sullivan Abercrombie (Hunter), Bailey Evans, Tony Cascio, Sophie Webb, Mattie Webb, JJ Malloy, and Sienna Malloy; six great-grandchildren, Ava Baker, Carmela Baker Vidart, Caroline Ellis, Rex Baker-Vidart, Nelson Ellis Jr., and Harper Malloy; sister, Kathleen Helmrath (Tom); as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many special friends.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Cancer Center of Monroe, St. Francis Medical Center, Allegiance Hospice and Carolyn Edwards Bodker.

Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M. until 12:00 P.M. Saturday, July 1, 2023, at Mulhearn Funeral Home Monroe.
