Biddy Dupree Norris

Biddy Dupree Norris, loving mother, devoted wife, virtuoso pianist and organist, beloved teacher, enthusiastic volunteer, avid purveyor of kindness and friendliness, best friend to birds and squirrels, generous caregiver, grandmother, and great-grandmother passed away on Tuesday, October 22, 2024, at the age of 82 in the home in which she lived and raised her family in West Monroe, Louisiana. In her final days and hours, she was fortunate and grateful to be surrounded by loved ones and comforted by the Holy Spirit.

Biddy leaves behind in this world an extraordinary legacy in thousands of her former West Monroe High School students, a host of young mothers with newborns who benefited from her counsel, and the countless people comforted, excited, strengthened, and touched deeply by her musical genius. But most important to Biddy is the legacy she leaves of a strong, close-knit family to carry forward to new generations her lifelong mission of kindness and love. This family includes her husband, Dave Norris, her three children, Cindy Stutts, Davy Norris, and Chris Norris; two daughters-in-law, Julie Norris and Amanda Norris, one granddaughter-in-law, Bridgette Norris; six grandchildren, Josh, Nick, Lucas, Josie, Jack, and Claire; and one great grandchild, baby Rosalie. She leaves behind beloved friends from the “Six-Pack” and many others whose lives were charmed by her hospitality, generosity, and friendliness including the patients, nurses, doctors, and other caregivers she encountered at the St. Francis Oncology Clinic over the past three years.

A memorial service will be held to celebrate Biddy’s life and legacy on November 24 at 2:00 P.M. in the fellowship hall of McGuire Methodist Church in West Monroe, Louisiana. In lieu of flowers please send donations to the Northeast Louisiana Food Bank (https://give.foodbanknela.org) or the Children’s Coalition for Northeast Louisiana (https://www.childrenscoalition.org).
