Carl Leman Moore Jr., 82, of West Monroe, Louisiana, was born on June 11, 1943, in Monroe, Louisiana, and passed away on March 12, 2026, at his residence, surrounded by his loving family.

Carl lived a life marked by service, friendship, and a deep appreciation for life’s simple joys. He and Mary were high school sweethearts who fell in love at the age of 16 while attending West Monroe High School. Together, they were part of the West Monroe Rebel Marching Band, where Carl played the trumpet. He later graduated from the University of Louisiana at Monroe, formerly known as NLU, earning a bachelor’s degree in psychology with a minor in Business.

Carl was a former president of the Civitan Club, where he devoted himself to helping others and serving his community. He later retired as an office manager from Entergy, where he was known for his steady leadership, strong work ethic, and kind spirit.

Carl had a deep love for the great outdoors and especially enjoyed camping and fishing with his and Mary’s best friends throughout the years. He loved hunting, traveling the open road in his RV, and sitting around a campfire sharing stories with family and friends. He also had a special love for mules and horses, which reflected his appreciation for country life and outdoor living. Carl and his beloved wife, Mary, shared a love for travel and made countless treasured memories together on cruises. There were too many to count, and each one was special in its own way. He also treasured the companionship of his loyal dogs, who were never far from his side.

Those left to honor and cherish his memory are his beloved wife, Mary Jourdan Moore; his sons, John Micheal Moore and wife, Robin Moore, and David Gregory Moore and wife, Jennifer Moore; his grandchildren, Melanie Moore Baker and husband, Harrison Baker; Raelyn Moore Tatum and husband, Mitchel Tatum; Mollyann Moore; Raimee Jo Moore Turner and husband, Joshua Turner; Hunter Moore; and Elizabeth Galloway and husband, Noah Galloway; and his great-grandchildren, Miley Baker, Gracelyn Baker, Wilson Tatum, Urban Tatum, Acre Jo Turner, and Joseph Galloway.

Pallbearers will be Mike Moore, Greg Moore, Harrison Baker, Hunter Moore, Joshua Turner, and Noah Galloway.

Honorary pallbearers will be Glenn Ryder, Ferrell Bostick, Tim Lewis, Larry Baker, Joe Clampit, Dwayne Pruitt, and Norman Bennett.

Carl will be remembered for his love of family, his quiet strength, his servant’s heart, and his deep love for the outdoors. He leaves behind a legacy of kindness, friendship, and memories that will be treasured by all who knew and loved him. While he will be deeply missed, his family finds great comfort in knowing that Carl was a Christian and is now at home with his Heavenly Father for all eternity.
