Funeral services celebrating the life of Carol Jean Strittman, 67, of West Monroe, Louisiana will be held at 11:00 A.M., Thursday, January 8, 2026, at McClendon Baptist Church with Rev. Kevin Stewart and Rev. James Gardner officiating. Interment will follow immediately after at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery, under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, West Monroe.
The visitation will be held from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M., Wednesday, January 7, 2026, at Mulhearn Funeral Home, West Monroe.
Ms. Strittman was born on March 25, 1958, in Delhi, Louisiana to James and Flora Strittman. She passed away on January 5, 2026.
Carol was a graduate of the Ouachita High School Class of 1975. She then went on to receive her bachelor’s degree and her master’s degree in education for Northeast Louisiana University in Monroe, Louisiana. Carol taught school at Franklin Academy, Caldwell Parish Junior High School, and Kelly Elementary. She loved her church, McClendon Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School and choir to children. Carol would dress as a clown for children’s church, along with puppets, and most recently her ministry of writing to the shut-ins at church.
Carol is preceded in death by her mother, Flora Belle Strittman; father, Rev. James L. Strittman; and sister, Barbara Lynn Strittman Willbanks.
Those left to honor and cherish her memory are her nephew, James A. Willbanks (Lenora); niece, Angela V. W. Simpson (Jay); great nieces, Glorya Willbanks, Belle Willbanks, and Victoria Simpson; great nephews, Oakley Simpson (Michaela) and Chandler Simpson (Sabrin); and brother-in-law, Richard Willbanks.
The pallbearers will be Jay Simpson, Oakley Simpson, Chandler Simpson, Wade Bishop, Dave Elliott, Anthony Sharp, Clyde Self, and Buddy Stokes.
Honorary pallbearers will be James A. Willbanks, Richard Willbanks, Wesley Roberts, and Clarence White.
The family would like to thank St. Joseph Hospice, McClendon Baptist Church, special friend, Kay Bishop, Naomi Bamburg, and many others.
