Carolyn Ann Arnold, lovingly known as “Meme,” passed away peacefully at her home in Dubach, Louisiana, on May 8, 2025, at the age of 76. Born on July 9, 1948, in Winnsboro, Louisiana, Carolyn lived a life rooted in faith, family, and service.

A graduate of South Arkansas, Carolyn began her nursing career in Arkansas, where she found her calling caring for the elderly—a passion she carried with her when she moved back to Louisiana. She served faithfully as an LPN for 23 years, known for her gentle spirit, strong work ethic, and a heart that never tired of helping others.

She had a deep love for the Lord and an even deeper love for her family—especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Carolyn embraced the simple joys of life: gardening, fishing, cleaning her home, sewing, taking long baths, painting and remodeling—a DIY queen, and spending time with those she loved most. She never passed up a good garage sale, ironed everything, and knew how to enjoy herself—whether it was heading off on vacation or showing up ready for a good party. She had a firecracker spirit and a heart full of grace. Her greatest earthly joy, though, was her late husband, James “Coon” Harrison Arnold, Jr., with whom she shared a deep and lasting love.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James “Coon” Harrison Arnold, Jr.; her daughter, Kimberly Arnold; her granddaughter, Adrianne Hope Ryals; and multiple brothers and sisters.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughters: Angela Brown and husband Mike, Amy Ryals and husband Curt, and Karen Hardy and husband Doug; her sisters: Deborah Batson, Artie Irene Rebscher and husband Mike, and Ella Juanita Mizell and husband Larry; and her beloved grandchildren: Amber Bryant and husband Clay, Brittni Phillips and husband John, Jessica Madden and husband Justin, Jodi Harvey and partner Tyler, Emily Foy and husband Dustin, and Allen Brown. Her legacy continues through eight great-grandchildren: Bella Rose Johnson, Zoey Ann Phillips, Gabriel David Madden, Noah James Madden, Kennadie Brown, Trey Foy, Sophie Foy, and Ruby Gene Bryant. She is also survived by multiple nieces and nephews who loved her dearly.

Pallbearers will be Curt Ryals, Clay Bryant, Mike Brown, Justin Madden, Ricky King, and Tyler Posey.

Carolyn’s love, laughter, and strong spirit touched many lives. Her legacy will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her. She was one of a kind—and now, truly home.
