It is with heavy hearts and profound love that we celebrate the life of Carolyn, a beloved daughter, sister, and friend, who passed away peacefully at home on August 11, 2026. Born on October 12, 1962, in Monroe, Louisiana, Carolyn was the cherished daughter of the late George Lee and Elaine Walker DeCuir.

Visitation will be at Mulhearn Funeral Home 165 North at 1:00 P.M. on Thursday, August 13, 2026. Service to follow at 2:00 P.M. with Pastor Natalie Faust officiating.

Carolyn's life was a tapestry woven with vibrant threads of passion, kindness, and dedication. She graduated from Northeast Louisiana University (now ULM) receiving a degree in Radio and Television Management, with her professional journey beginning at KMLB Radio, where she skillfully crafted advertisement copy, leaving her mark with her unique flair and dedication.

Beyond her professional achievements, Carolyn found immense joy and fulfillment in volunteering at the Willow Street Elementary School library in Franklin, Louisiana. Her presence there was a beacon of warmth and encouragement, inspiring young minds and nurturing a love for reading and learning.

Carolyn was an avid sports fan, her enthusiasm for football, baseball, and basketball contagious to all who knew her.

Her expertise in skincare was unmatched, and her peaches and cream complexion was a testament to her meticulous care and knowledge.

Her love extended to the feline companions she adored, as she was a devoted supporter of the local animal shelter, particularly the River Cities Humane Society for Cats in Monroe.

Carolyn is survived by her loving sister, Nancy Jones, and partner, Claude Friloux, along with a circle of dear friends and extended family who treasured her deeply. Her caregivers, Earline King and Dixie Smith, became like family to her, and the family extends their heartfelt gratitude to them for their unwavering care and compassion over the years.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Carolyn’s memory may be made to the River Cities Humane Society For Cats, a cause that was close to her heart, Friedreich's Ataxia Research Alliance, or your favorite charity.

Carolyn's spirit and love will forever remain in the hearts of those she touched. As she embarks on her eternal journey, we find comfort in knowing she is now free, running with joy and peace. She will always be remembered with love and affection, living on in our hearts and memories.
