Services celebrating Charles Ronald “Ron” Humphries, 76, of Monroe, LA will be held at 10:00AM Tuesday, September 29, 2026 at Grace Baptist Church, 1569 Harmon Johnson Road, Monroe, LA 71202, with Bro. Ricky Baker officiating.

Ron passed away peacefully on September 26, 2026 in West Monroe, LA. He was born on November 17, 1949 in Monroe, LA.

Ron was a man of faith who loved his church and found joy in praising God. He was a longtime member of Grace Baptist Church, where he worshipped with his church family. Ron loved his family and friends and enjoyed the relationships he built throughout his life.

Ron spent most of his working life as a Maintenance Technician at North Monroe Hospital, where he was a dedicated employee until his retirement. He took pride in his work and being someone others could depend on.

He had a lifelong love of motorcycles and fast cars, enjoying the excitement and freedom they brought to him. Ron was a good man who valued his faith, family, friends, and the things that brought him joy.

Ron is preceded in death by his parents; Othel and Celia Humphries; sisters, Jean McQuisten (Graden), June Plag, and Barbara English (John); and his beloved wife, Mary Cookie Ogden Humphries.

He is survived by his brothers, Braxton Humphries and wife Connie, and Bryce Humphries and wife Susan; sister, Beth Moore and husband Mike; children, Charles Nathan Humphries and wife April, Charles Christopher and wife Sheree, Karyn Graves Boggs and husband Nelson, Michael Graves and wife Deanna; grandchildren, Phillip “Hemi” Humphries, Mia Humphries, Eleonora Katherine, Courtney Brooks and husband Jason, Bethany Sutton, and Toni Freeland and husband Ronny; great-granddaughter, McKenzie Brooks; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends who will cherish his memory.

Ron’s life was marked by faith, hard work, family, friendship, and the simple joys he held dear. His memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the Alzheimer’s Association in memory of Ron to support the Alzheimer’s research and the search for a cure.
