Funeral services for Mr. Charles O. Hunt, Jr., 79, of Monroe, LA, will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, August 9, 2025, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home Sterlington Rd., Monroe, with Deacon Bill Goss officiating. Interment will follow at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery in Monroe. Visitation will be held from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. on Friday, August 8, 2025, at the funeral home.
Mr. Hunt was born on December 22, 1945, in Opelousas, LA, and passed away on August 3, 2025, at his home peacefully surrounded by family. He was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church.
Mr. Hunt owned and operated Power Lube of Monroe. He was a Vietnam Veteran who served 34 years with the United States Army. He loved spending time with his family who were the most important thing in his life. He enjoyed hosting gatherings, grilling, and smoking foods, working in the yard, and home renovation projects with his wife. He had a huge passion for hotrods and antiques.
Mr. Hunt was preceded in death by his parents, Owen and Lorena Hunt; and sister and brother-in-law, Ann Crawford and Hooper Crawford.
Survivors include his wife, Teresa Hunt; children, Jody K. Hunt (Jennifer), Ashley N. Hunt (Leslie), Jason A. Hunt, Maria A. Hunt, and Jacob R. Hunt; grandchildren, Nadia, Halle, Bailey, Owen, Bean, Sharon, and Gia Hunt; great grandson, Hudson; and sisters, Verna Arceneaux (Don) and Bobbie Nezat (Rascal).
Pallbearers will be Jody Hunt, Ashley Hunt, Jason Hunt, Jacob Hunt, Damian Gonzales, and Garland Hendricks. Honorary pallbearers will be Owen Hunt and Bean Hunt.
