Charles Edward Wisenor Jr., affectionately known as “Charlie” and “Bubba,” was born on April 14, 1955, in Monroe, Louisiana. He grew up in Rayville, Louisiana, and passed from this life at the age of 71 on August 14, 2026, surrounded by his loving children and siblings.

Charlie worked for more than 30 years selling cars at Car Town, where he served his community and formed countless friendships. He later worked for more than 15 years as a pipeline environmental inspector. Although he took great pride in his work, he considered his children, their spouses, and his grandchildren to be his greatest accomplishments.

Charlie was immensely proud of his son Andrew and the successful pool business he built in Dallas, Texas, as well as his daughter Alex and her childcare facility Ready Set Go in West Monroe. His children and grandchildren were the center of his world, and he rarely missed an opportunity to tell others about them.

Charlie was kind, loving, funny, generous, and an amazing cook. Known by many as “Good Time Charlie,” he had an infectious personality and brought life into every room he entered. He was a magnet for people and found tremendous joy in cooking, serving others, and gathering everyone together.

He loved hunting with his son and friends, and the camp was always one of his favorite places. In his later years, he especially enjoyed visiting with friends at Magic Grill, JMaxx, and The Goat. His familiar sayings, “Come on with it” and “You know your business,” will continue to bring smiles to those who knew and loved him.

Above all, Charlie always showed up for his family. He never left or ended a phone call without saying, “I love you.” As a grandfather, he was incredibly proud of each of his grandchildren. He delighted in buying them their first BB guns, surprising them with gifts, and giving them change for their piggy banks.

Charlie taught his family to work hard, love freely, and give generously. Through the way he lived, he showed them that a person does not have to have a lot to give a lot.

Left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Ashley Wisenor; his son, Andrew Wisenor and wife, Miranda; his daughter, Alex Graves and husband, Drake; his grandchildren, Karalyne McDow, Rylan Wisenor, Lennon Graves, and Remi-Kate Wisenor; his sisters, Kathy Macnichol and LuAnn Gregory and husband, Shelby; his brother, David Wisenor and wife, Angie; and numerous relatives, friends, and community members whose lives were made brighter by knowing him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Edward Wisenor Sr. and Bonnie Sue Wisenor Wynn.

Visitation will be held Friday, August 21, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Mulhearn Funeral Home in West Monroe. The funeral service will immediately follow.

A celebration of Charlie’s life will be held at the building directly next door to JMaxx on Antique Alley. Anyone wishing to donate food for the celebration may contact Daniel Wood at 318-376-1515.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made to St. Mary’s Residential Training School, where Charlie’s daughter Ashley attends, or to the Dream Hunt Foundation, which provides hunting and outdoor experiences for children with special needs.

Charlie will be remembered simply as Charlie or Bubba—a loving father, a proud grandfather, a loyal friend, an amazing cook, and the life of every room he entered. His laughter, generosity, and unforgettable spirit will live on through everyone blessed to have known and loved him.
