Christine Ford passed away peacefully of natural causes on the morning of February 14, 2026, at Landmark Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in West Monroe. Throughout the last week of her life, she was surrounded by family, offering comfort and companionship. Christine lived a full and rewarding life and was 99 years old at the time of her passing.
Christine Ford was born in Houston, Texas on October 19, 1926, at 9:20 AM. She was the second child of Ruth Wolff and only child and daughter of Ruth and Julius Wolff.
Christine was a devoted wife and mother to her three children, a loving daughter and sister, and a caring grandmother to her four grandchildren. Her fierce independence and determination led her to pursue advanced education and a professional career, working diligently while proudly supporting her community and family.
Christine completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Arkansas. She then interned at Texas Women’s University where she received her certificate as a registered dietician. She completed her Master of Science at the University of Texas in Austin, TX. Among her proudest professional achievements was helping to open and lead the food service operations for the Fairmont Assisted Living Facility in Dallas, TX, which was featured in the Dallas Morning News on August 5, 1962.
After several years working in Texas, Christine moved to Monroe, Louisiana to lead the food service program at St. Francis Hospital in 1964. In 1965, she married Milton Ford. Alongside her devotion to her family, Christine’s multifaceted career included being proprietor of The Tamale and Taco House, head of food service at both the Monroe Civic Center and the Bayou DeSiard Country Club and managing dietician for the State of Louisiana with a focus on serving women, infants, and children. Christine was recognized for her years of service as a member of the American Dietetic Association at their annual meeting in Atlanta, Georgia, in 1999. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Monroe and later, First West Baptist Church in West Monroe.
Christine remained active in retirement, embracing her love to “go and do.” She spent time in Lake Chapala, Mexico, and traveled to Europe, Russia, China and Israel. Upon returning, she bought and remodeled about a dozen houses in West Monroe, Louisiana, enjoying a second career as a proprietor of affordable housing. She also held properties in Florida and loved hosting “Camp Mimi” for her grandchildren during the summer months.
As Christine grew older, she slowed down and required assistance with daily living. In her last decade, she relied on family and many loving caregivers who gave their time and care. The family extends special recognition to Gwenetta Gatlin, Robert Leith, and Christine Adkins, whose dedication and compassion exceeded expectations.
Christine was preceded in death by her parents, Julius and Ruth Wolff; brother Milam Stricker; husband Milton Ford; son Robert Ford; and son-in-law, Paul Hendricks.
She is survived by her daughter, Donna Hendricks (nee Ford) of Richardson, TX; her son, Milam W. Ford and his wife Lisa of Baton Rouge, LA; and her grandchildren: Alexander Ford of Baton Rouge, LA; Madeline Ford of Baton Rouge, LA; Andrew Ford of San Jose, CA; and Ashley Adrian (nee Hendricks) and her husband Andrew Adrian of Fate, TX.

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails.
1 Corinthians 13: 4-8
And now these three remain: faith, hope, and love.
But the greatest of these is love.
