Claude Bennett Townsend, Jr.

Funeral Services for Mr. Claude Bennett Townsend, Jr., 76, of Denham Springs, LA, will be 11:00 AM Friday, January 6, 2023, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home Winnsboro. Interment with Military Honors will be at the Northeast Louisiana Cemetery in Rayville, LA.

Mr. Townsend was born June 19, 1946 and passed away on December 31, 2022. He was of the Baptist faith. Mr. Townsend served in the United States Army. He was a heavy equipment operator for many years. Mr. Townsend enjoyed hunting and fishing and being outdoors.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Claude Bennett Townsend, Sr., Lola Mae Takewell Townsend; two brothers, Daniel Townsend and Randy Townsend; two sisters, Claudine Rymer and Mattie Jo Brossett.

Survivors include his son, Derek Townsend; sisters and brothers, Ella Brossett, Peggy Harding, Judy Fleming, Dianne Naquin, Rocky Townsend and wife Jere; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Visitation will be from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM Friday, January 6, 2023, at Mulhearn Funeral Home, Winnsboro, LA.
