Connie Halley McKinnie

Celebration of life visitation will be held from 12:00 to 2:00pm Friday, December 29, 2023, at Paron Baptist Church in Sterlington, LA, under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home Sterlington Rd. Monroe, LA.

Connie had a love for sports which included playing softball and tennis. She also coached with her friend Kaye for many years. She was always on the go and attended as many of her kids and grandkids activities as she could. Connie was a giver and was always on the lookout to help anyone should could find in need. You always knew when she walked into a room because she filled it with singing, whistling, and making her presence known.

Connie was born on September 12, 1948, in Monroe and passed away on December 25, 2023, in Monroe. She was preceded in death by her father, Warren Halley; mother, Susie Lawrence; and brother, Jimmy Evans.

Survivors include her two daughters, Nikki Powell and husband Ryan and Jamie McKinnie Fricks; stepdaughter, Sondi Shrum and husband Dwayne; grandchildren, Jennifer McKinnie, Jessica Anderson and husband Nathan, Jordan Fricks and wife Myra, Vada Powell, and Oliver Powell; great grandchild, Leah Fricks; sisters, Barbara Tanck and Shirley Thomas; best friend Kaye Snell; her K-9 companions, Sadie and Dee Dee; and numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of family and friends.
