It was a fall day on November 23, 1932, when Constance Fredericka Schauf entered this world. She was the first born of Fred and Laura Schauf. She passed away peacefully on November 9, 2023, in West Monroe, LA.
Her childhood days were spent growing up in New Orleans and St. Joseph, LA.
After graduating from Joseph Moore Davidson in 1951 she enlisted in the Navy and was sent to Oahu, Hawaii. While stationed in Hawaii she met the love of her life and soul mate, Richard Malmstrom of Leonardville, Kansas, and was married while living in Hawaii. To this union three children were born. The first born was Charlotte, then came Jeff, and then the family was completed by the birth of Teresa Malmstrom.
Their married years were spent in Hawaii, Natchez, Mississippi, Leonardville, Salina, and Manhattan, Kansas. They spent their retired years in West Monroe, LA.
Connie worked for several doctors after moving to West Monroe, LA, until her retirement, specifically, for Dr. Lawrence Danna.
Connie and Richard traveled through out the U.S. and visited the Hawaiian Islands several times to reminisce on their time there, especially the church they were married in and the base they were stationed at. They also traveled the Caribbean and to Canada. They lived life to the fullest.
Her greatest moments in life were spent with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. The hobby she loved most was working in her yard and tending to her flowers. They brought her great joy.
Connie and Richard were married for 68 years until Richard passed away in 2017.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Richard A. Malmstrom; her parents, Fredrick and Laura Schauf; son, Jeff Malmstrom; and her brother, Laurance Schauf.
