Memorial services celebrating the life of David K. Brewer, 80, of Monroe, LA will be held at 10:00 A.M. Monday, February 6, 2023, in the Mausoleum Chapel of Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery in Monroe, LA with Rev. Job Edathinatt Scaria officiating under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home Monroe, LA. Visitation will be held from 9:00 A.M. until service time at the cemetery.
David was born on July 10, 1942, in Lawrence County, Arkansas and passed away on February 2, 2023, in Monroe, Louisiana. He graduated from Biloxi High School in 1960 and attended the University of Southern Mississippi. David served in the United States Army. He loved and admired the military and was grateful to all Veterans. After his time in the service, he began his working career, working with Life of Georgia for seventeen years, Van Trow Auto Sales for sixteen years, and Wild Bill’s Outfitters for eighteen years. While at Wild Bill’s, David considered the folks he worked with as his second family.
David is preceded in death by his parents, Jerome and Nina Schwartzman; brother, Tommy Brewer; niece, Barbara Lynn Gentry and stepson, Michael Shane Entrican.
David had many interests that included reading and politics. He loved to grill on his many grills and enjoyed having friends over for a good meal. David also enjoyed good food… Southern and Cajun Cuisine, with gumbo and steak being his favorites. Another favorite pastime was sitting on the deck at the cabin in Arkansas and watching the hummingbirds, deer, squirrels, and many of God’s creatures. He enjoyed his music and loved to dance. David was a fun guy who enjoyed people and laughter.
He and Marie, his wife of 36 years, enjoyed traveling. He enjoyed taking their camper on trips with friends. On these trips he dearly loved fishing, and in the evening, sitting by the campfire with friends.
David is survived by his wife, Marie of Monroe, Louisiana; sisters, Debbie Lawrence and husband, David of Biloxi, Mississippi and Camelia Ricks and husband, Ken of Arkansas; three daughters, Kim Brewer and Fiancé, Shelby of Atlanta, GA, Kristi Brewer of Atlanta, Georgia and Danielle Jones and husband, Steve of Ocean Springs, Mississippi; step-daughter, Kim Stokes and step-son, Ike Stokes and wife, Connie all of Monroe, Louisiana; grandchildren, Christine Monk and husband, Michael, Taylor Stokes and Fiancé, Abi, Mary Ann Stokes all of Monroe, Louisiana, and Channing Entrican of Fredericksburg, Virginia.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Ike Stokes, Taylor Stokes, Kent Stokes, Bill Scruggs and Bo Muzzi.
In lieu of flowers please make donations to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in David's name.
80 years have been good to David! He dearly loved his wife, children, family and friends. Many precious moments were spent holding hands with his wife. David was a good Christian and loved his priest and Church family. His dream was to see the “Face of Jesus”! We will forever miss you sweet man.
