David "Dave" Edward Hakeem, Sr.

A Memorial Service Celebrating the Life of Mr. David “Dave” Edward Hakeem, Sr., 69, of Sterlington, LA, will be held at a later date.

Mr. Hakeem was born December 1, 1954 and passed away on March 30, 2024. He was a nurse for ten years in Brea, CA and then moved to Sterlington, LA and he became truck driver until 2000. Mr. Hakeem enjoyed fishing, golfing, and most of all spending time with family. 

He is preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Teresa Gioiosa Hakeem.

Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Kristy Atkins Hakeem; daughter, Amanda McBroom and husband Dustin; two sons, David Edward Hakeem, Jr.; and wife Hannah; Bradley James Hakeem and fiancée, Lindsey; six grandchildren, Adriana, Kaiden, Brody, Carlin, David Ely, and Porter; sister, Leslie Camus and husband Gary; sister-in-law, Sherri Willenborg and husband Will; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many special friends. 

Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
